The article presents an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the problem of human behavior, including from the standpoint of behavioral economics. The considered model of irrational economic behavior means that a person makes decisions under the influence of psychological and other factors. The manifestation and form of such behavior is consumerism, which includes the pathological accumulation of unnecessary things and pets by residents of apartment buildings in Russian cities. The socio-legal preconditions for this insufficiently studied psychosocial phenomenon in the country are analyzed.
